Green / Eco friendly facilities
Sustainable energy systems:
• Solar water heating
• Instead of Eskom electricity, we make use of 12 volt solar electricity with long life batteries
• Gas stoves etc. in order to do our bit for the energy saving (by not using Eskom at all)
We have our own recycling programme and the waste that the guests leave behind is taken to a recycle facility. Our activities are eco driven, hiking, bird watching, bass fishing and even our 4x4 routes are ecological sustainable.
And we do our bit for the Highveld fauna and flora. As many of you know, Black wattle (alien tree) is a very big problem in the Highveld and we are fighting the fight to keep them as little as possible (we want them gone, but it is a very long process) Also we are conserving all the indigenous small game that so little people even notice, such as the Steendbok, Duiker, Mountain Rheedbuck, “Bakoor Jakkals” and a number of other species.
