Attractions and Activities

Roodeplaat Dam is only minutes away where water sports can be enjoyed or more game can be viewed within a nature reserve. Visit the nearby Mandela and Ndebele Cultural Villages or tour the historical village of Cullinan and it’s adjacent diamond mine. Enjoy some of the great restaurants in the area including at Kievietskroon. Discreet and helpful staff are available to service the lodge daily.

Quiver trees are well known for their uniqueness. For ages Bushmen have been hollowing out the branches to make quivers for their arrows, leading to the common name “quiver tree”. Majestically these trees stand out - green crowns against a dry and inhospitable desert, evoking ideals of courage and perseverance. Those same ideals reverberate through Quiver of Life Guest Lodge where diversity is appreciated and privacy, respected.

Location

Quiver of Life Guest Lodge falls within the Buffelsdrift Conservancy which has a pretty unique location. The Buffelsdrift Conservancy lies in an old volcanic crater close to both Pretoria and Johannesburg, between the bushveld and the highveld regions with the Pienaars River running through its center. Home to a number of wetlands, rocky ridges and river banks, it has its fair share of animal and plant life.

The Buffelsdrift Conservancy lies on the western boundaries of the Dinokeng area which is just northeast of Tshwane (the greater Pretoria). Dinokeng which means “place of rivers” is an area of more than 280 000 hectares of rural land and bushveld rich in wildlife, culture, heritage and entertainment, a place where visitors enjoy the bush and the history and culture of Africa.
