Situated in the picturesque area between Somerset West and the historic town of Stellenbosch, Papyrus Lodge is within easy reach of a variety of leisure activities:
• A trip to Paarl or Franschhoek, stopping at some of the Cape's most prestigious wine estates.
• Whale watching in Hermanus and False Bay.
• The many pristine beaches along the Indian Ocean.
• A number of top golf courses.
• Horse riding, mountain trails, windsurfing, scuba diving and more

Italian, French and German are also spoken at Papyrus Lodge and children are welcome.

Accommodation


A perfect little paradise, providing comfort peace and beauty. Our guest lodge is set on 12 hectares private land a delightful garden and its own fresh water lake for swimming, fishing or rowing. Rowing boats are free for use for our guests. For the birdwatchers there is a wonderful and immense variety of different birds to be spotted on and around the lake.

For the little ones we have created a playground with trampoline where they can enjoy themselves without disturbing the guests that are looking for tranquillity. Breakfasts are served on the garden terrace overlooking the garden and the lake or in the sunny breakfast room.

Luxury Chalets
These romantic wooden Chalets are built on stilts in the water. Only connected with a small bridge to the land you find yourself in your own private little world. Here you can unwind and relax on your own big sundeck . Surrounded by water, with a stunning view over the vineyards to the Helderberg mountain range on one side and to Table Mountain on the other side. Enjoy the spectacular sunsets and listen to the lapping water of the lake. Each chalet sleeps 2 persons. A one room studio type with a small open plan kitchenette. The bathrooms are completely renovated with appliances and underfloor heating.

Superior Suites
These Suites are built on the land, in the old cape colonial style and have a big covered veranda. Comfortable cane chairs invite you to sit and enjoy the sweeping views over the lake and towards Table Mountain. Beautifully decorated, luxury two roomed suites with a small open plan kitchenette. Sleeps two people. Some family suites are available.

Dining


Wake up to a mouth-watering selection of home-made breads, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold meats, or hot breakfast foods, served on the garden terrace to the sound of gently waving palm trees, or in the sunny breakfast room overlooking the lake. And for fine dining, there is an excellent restaurant adjacent, as well as numerous others in the area. For your convenience, there is also a small open plan kitchenette in each chalet or suite to prepare small meals in between.
