About Ouplaas Mountain View Cottage
We would love to welcome you to our little piece of heaven, situated just outside McGregor. Nestled between the spectacular Krans and the Houtbaai River is Ouplaas. Here we fall asleep to the sounds of the frogs in the dam and wake up with the crowing of our rooster.
This little cottage has a breath taking view of the Krans. If lazy days are what you want, you can spend time bird watching. We are busy compiling a comprehensive list of all the birds that visit Ouplaas, and would love your help. Our resident Steppe Buzzards are a huge attraction. We also have a variety of mammals residing at Ouplaas, the largest being the Rooikat. Or you can take a meandering stroll along the river, and weather permitting, even a swim.
If you are more active, there is a hiking path from Ouplaas up the Krans, which has interesting Karoo vegetation with rare plants, into the picturesque village of McGregor. McGregor has numerous boutique shops and restaurants just waiting for you to visit.
