My husband & I visited the KNP during Jan this year. It’s very tranquil and the view is magnificient overlooking the Komatipoort River. Its very close to the Crocidile Bridge which is about 12km away from the KNP. Our hostess Linda Renecle welcomed us with open arms as if we were old friends even though we only chatted on telephone & did most correspondence via email.
As the busy festive season was over we were given the main cottage . We found it very comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. Linda gave us the choice of having breakfast in the main lounge, outside on the patio or she would give us a packed lunch if we were going to the KNP very early in the mornings. She was very flexible and as we were on holiday there was no hard and fast rules. We usually let her know the previous eve what our plans would be for the following day.
Every evening she would pop in to enquire about our day’s adventure and advise us where to go. It was my birthday and she made reservations for us at a small intimate restaurant with a lovely ambiance.
We enjoyed eating mangos which we picked from the trees and unfortunately all the litchis were eaten up by the December guests. We were never troubled by any mosquitos as there were protective nets on all doors and windows.
Our holiday ended too soon and if we should decide to visit the KNP again we would definitely stay at Orchards Farm Cottages.

Nice place. Very close to river which makes for exciting Hippo vibes. Lots of lichie trees. Go in season. |
