Swellendam Accommodation / Old Thatch Lodge Swellendam Accommodation / Bed & Breakfast in Swellendam

We invite you to sleep in a "National Monument", situated in Swellendam, third oldest town in South Africa and approximately 220 km from Cape Town.

We would be glad to welcome you and it would be our pleasure for us to help you with further information for your holiday in this wonderful country South Africa.

Accommodation

Would you like to sleep in a "National Monument"? Our house in Cape Victorian Style, was the townhouse of Mr. Reitz, the governor in the early ages of 1900. Family Reitz lived on a farm. They only came to town on special days and church days, where they lived for a few days in "our" house. That was long ago, but still today the atmosphere is like in the old days.

So enjoy the evening in our beautiful lounge with an open fireplace or relax during the day in our wonderful indigenous garden. Secure parking on the property.

The Nectarine Suite (photo gallery thumbnails 4, 5, 6)
is a big luxury family suite for 4 people, with separate entrance, a double bed, over a few steps you would be able to go to a gallery with 2 more single beds, a lounge with TV (SABC 1, 2 and 3 and E-TV), and a bathroom with bath and shower.

The Apricot Suite (photo gallery thumbnails 8, 9)
our honeymoon suite, with en suite bathroom and wonderful atmosphere, little TV and separate entrance in the Main House.

The Orange Room (photo gallery thumbnail 7)
our new renovated double room with en suite bathroom

The Lemon Room
a double room with two single beds, another room with one single bed and big en-suite bathroom.

Breakfast

Your breakfast will be served outside on the terrace under the "thatch" roof, and consists of orange juice, champagne, a fruit platter, something sweet (cake or muffins), bacon and eggs, at least 4 different jams and honey, a selection of cereals, joghurt, toast and as much filter coffee and tea as you like.
