We chose Old Joe's Kaia for our wedding ceremony and reception being close to family and friends. The venue, decor, ambience and attention to detail were all stunning and exceeded our expectations. The food is suburb, mostly using local sources for their ingredients and the presentation of each course was unique and resembled what you would find at an 5 star resort hotel in a tropical location. All of this nestled in the most enchanting valley with views from every point, all added up to make our wedding occasion the most memorable! |

An absolute delight of a guest lodge! The warmth and personalised service of the management and staff is trully endearing and I would go back to experience this welcoming and genuine manner, without pretenses and airs and graces of the owners and their staff. Delightful rooms, cozy, well kept and a part of the landscape. The Labyrinth is trully a meditative experience. The owners are totally dedicated to promoting the South African resourses and natural beauty. Their gardens have only indigenous plants and a wonderful vegetable garden feeds the kitchen with fresh, organic produce. Meals are wholesome, well made and always with a S.African touch to them. Guests take breakfast and lunch on a lovely wooden deck overlooking the mountains.Dinner takes place in the dining room which is warm and inviting and with so many interesting things to gaze upon for hours. There is history here that the owners do not shy away from and this applies to their South African heritage as well. I highly recommend a break-away to this little gem in Mpumalanga where you will be looked after by the owners Paul and Marian and their incredible staff in true South African hospitality. Leave crazy JHB and go find peace and tranquility a mere 3 hrs away! Many thanks to all at Old Joe's Kaia!!! |
