Oak Tree Bed & Breakfast is part of Rust-en-Vrede, a charmingly restored Victorian homestead, built in 1899. Set in gently wooded gardens with a sparkling pool and beautiful mountain views this is a haven of peace and tranquillity. AccommodationOak Tree offers three comfortable en-suite bedrooms, each with their own private entrances. The Heritage room Part of the main homestead and is furnished in a traditional style with antiques, including the original claw foot bath, but still boasting modern conveniences. It has a double bed, full DSTV and wireless internet. Annexe 1 Has twin beds/ king size bed. This suite has a fully equipped kitchenette which can also be used on a self-catering basis. It is the perfect choice for those on longer stays, or for the business person who requires a larger work area. It also has hospitality DSTV and wireless internet. Annexe 2 Is furnished and styled for tranquillity and relaxation and is the perfect place to unwind after a hectic day. This room has twin beds / king size bed. It also has hospitality DSTV, but unfortunately has limited wireless internet. FacilitiesOur beds and bedding are chosen with your comfort in mind. All our linen is 100% cotton percale. Bath sheets and toiletries are provided. All the rooms are equipped with their own tea / coffee facilities, mini fridge, hairdryers, safes, electric blankets and heaters. Parking is on-site and secure behind electric gates. BreakfastA full breakfast is served in the elegant dining room where the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. With prior notification we can cater for most special dietary requirements. LocationOak Tree Bed & Breakfast is centrally situated in a quiet up-market suburb of George. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre, banks, restaurants, library, museum, Tourism Bureau and the Botanical Gardens. We are a short 10 minute drive to both the national airport and our beautiful sandy beaches. Activities & AttractionsThe historic town of George is set between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean. It boasts beautiful beaches, majestic mountains and great expanses of open countryside. We have an extensive range of activities for everyone to enjoy. Sport and adventure enthusiasts will enjoy the hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, paragliding, cycling, abseiling and canoeing. Bird watching and whale watching are popular pastimes. A trip up the Outeniqua Mountains in the power van is an experience not to be missed. The town also offers a sophisticated collection of shops, restaurants, art galleries and museums. George has five International standard golf courses, being Outeniqua & Montague at Fancourt, Oubaai, Kingswood and George Golf Clubs, and three Mashie courses and is considered the Mecca of golf in South Africa. It is also the ideal centre from which to enjoy the fabled charms and scenic beauty of the Garden Route and Klein Karoo, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay are all within easy travelling distance and make perfect day trips.
