Looking for a real safe Bush veldt experience with game walking around you? Mowana Game Farm offers you a perfect breakaway from the daily stressful city life.

Mowana Self-catering Chalets are situated in a safe and electrified fenced game farm 10 km outside Tzaneen on the (R71) Phalaborwa, Kruger National Park in the sub-tropical Limpopo Lowveld Province. Mowana Game Farm is a private game farm mainly catering for nature and game lovers.

This is the ideal holiday and overnight accommodation for couples, families, tourists and representatives, amidst lots of indigenous trees and abundant bird and wildlife. As we don’t allow hunting on the premises the animals are relaxed and tame. We do not cater for the commercial market.

Self Catering Accommodation

We offer cozy, thatched roof Self-Catering Chalets, each with its own distinctive lay out /character and with it`s own private braai / lapa. The Chalets have a wonderful view over a dam with a wide variety of all kinds of birds and game strolling around.

All the Chalets are fully furnished open plan units with bath room, sleeping area, lounge, dining and kitchen area. Each Chalets sleeps four people with one double bed and the sofas in the lounge can be converted into two very comfortable single beds.

Each Chalet is fully fitted with all linen and towels. The Kitchen is fitted with a microwave, two plate stove, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery, kettle, toaster etc. All the chalets are air-conditioned.

We also offer unique, cozy, wooden Tree Houses recommended for a couple. Come and experience a romantic weekend in the treetops surrounded by birds and a variety of game during the day and firefly`s for company at night. There is also a rippling, cascading streamlet next to the Tree Houses.

All the Tree Houses are fully furnished open plan units: e.g. bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and kitchenette on the balcony overlooking a streamlet. The Tree Houses sleeps two people.
Each Tree House is fully fitted with all linen and towels. The Kitchenette is fitted with a microwave, two plate stove, fridge/freezer, crockery, cutlery, kettle, toaster etc. with it`s own braai area next to the streamlet.

The Chalets and Tree Houses are about 50 meters apart, which will ensure your privacy, but they are not to far from each other, if you want to book more than one Chalet / Tree House if you are more than one family.

There are No TV available in the Chalets or Tree Houses. We don’t want to disturb the tranquility and peaceful atmosphere.

There are also Self Catering Rooms available in our small Country Guest House on the same property. All the rooms have double beds and are situated near the pool and braai area, with a beautiful view overlooking the low-veld and the majestic Wolkberg Mountains.

Services and Facilities

We also offer a unique open “Bush Braai” facility, where guests can make a huge bonfire, and really experience the bush veldt atmosphere. Here families , groups or businesses can enjoy a relaxing “Bush Braai” or informal function, while watching the variety of game walking by. (From 8 up to 100 people can be accommodated )

As all the Chalets, Tree Houses and Rooms at the Guest House are Self Catering units, the cleaners will only clean the Braai area at your unit daily.

We are Really sorry but no pets aloud and no smoking inside the Chalets, Tree Houses and Rooms in the Guesthouse.

Activities

We offer safe walking trails within the Game Farm.

• Game drives in our Game Viewer must be arranged beforehand. (Keep in mind booking in advance is essential.)
• Fishing: Catch and release only at Nyala Dam. (Prior arrangement with management and payment in advance is essential.)
• Mowana Game Farm can be used as a base for daily visits to many tourism destinations nearby, e.g. Big 5 Tours, Debangeni Waterfalls, Baobab Bar, Elephant rides, Cheetah and Lion project, Echo Caves, Pelgrims Rest, Graskop, Kruger National Park, etc
• There is a Restaurant and Ladies Bar at the entrance to Mowana Game Farm
• The Tzaneen Airfield is only 10 Km from Mowana Game Farm, and transport can be arranged
