I stayed at Lily's cottage with my mom whilst my father was undergoing surgery in a nearby hospital. The location to the hospital and everything else we needed was perfect, very accessible and convenient. The owners, were incredible....so supportive during a stressful time, so helpful and considerate. They are the friendliest, kindest people I have met. The cottage itself was so well maintained and so comfortable that mom and I tried to convince dad to stay in hospital longer just so that we could have a few more days in the cottage, it was such a nice home away from home for 4 weeks. I will always have very fond memories of my time there and cannot wait to book my next stay at Lily's cottage. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Durban.
When we arrived on Christmas Day, our host Arthur welcomed us with open arms and showed us the cottage and made sure that we can come with any requests that we may have. We were welcomed with a variety of cookies, Papaya (grown on the tress in the garden), other fruits and were provided with information on activities to due in the surrounding areas (especially provided tennis and eatery options which we asked and were given without a hesitation). Arthur and his family made us feel welcome and gave us the true sense of South African hospitality. The listing on the website was accurate. The area were we stayed was centrally located about 20km from major tourist attractions which is ok if you are willing to drive about 20-30 minutes to the beach.
