La Villa is a self catering house set on a green belt of natural Fynbos vegetation in the Pearl Bay area of Yzerfontein on the Cape West Coast. The Ideal Seaside Holiday Feel AccommodationLa Villa consists of 3 en suite bedrooms (sleeps 6 persons: 2 rooms with queen bed, 1 room with 2 single beds set together or separate), a fully fitted kitchen and a fully fitted scullery, dining and living areas equipped with a flat screen TV (Full DSTV bouquet) as well as a mini-hifi system. There are 2 terraces, the top terrace offering magnificent sea views, views on Table Mountain and Dassen Island and is ideal for sunbathing / lunch. This terrace is equipped with a table and benches for lunches and dinners. The bottom terrace is secluded from south Easter winds, and is also equipped with a dining table and chairs as well as braai (barbecue)facilities. FacilitiesThe house is fully equipped and serviced, and offers a fully fitted kitchen and scullery / laundry, lounge and dining room, DSTV. La Villa also offers a "French Boules" pitch in its garden,("boules" supplied). English, French spoken. Location & AttractionsLa villa is ideally situated within 3minutes walk from the beach and is surrounded by a natural Fynbos reserve. Within 15 to 20 minutes drive from La Villa, the following attractions can be found: West Coast National Park, Buffelsfontein Game Reserve,! Kwa Ttu (San Cultural Centre) and the Darling Wine Route and cellars. Within 35 minutes drive one can find the world famous West Coast Fossil Park, as well as Laangebaan Lagoon and town. Surrounding AreaSituated on the West Coast of the Western Cape, and offering superb beach activities, and a very active fishing harbour, Yzerfontein village is at close proximity of the Darling Wine Experience Route, where a number of award winning wine producers are found. Spending time in Yzerfontein is very rewarding to one’s body and soul! This is due to the peaceful and serene energy that prevails on this wonderful peninsula. This has made unanimity within all the visitors who had sojourned there. Yzerfontein village itself blossoms in spring, with a large number of indigenous flowering plants. The wide and white beaches of Yzerfontein offer the possibility to the more energetic of long walks such as the famous “16 mile beach”. Many surfers, wind surfers and fishermen visit Yzerfontein all year round. During the “crayfish season”, the small harbour as well as the local restaurants are buzzling with activity due to the large number of visitors congregating there either to test their luck catching crayfish, or visiting a restaurant offering this delicacy. After a mere 15mn drive, the visitor can reach either the West Coast National Park, which includes the famous Langebaan Lagoon with its turquoise, crystal clear seawater expanse, offering in its coves abundant bird life in the European migration season; or visit Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve where a wide variety of antelopes as well as giraffes, zebras, buffalos and many other animals can be observed. In the same area also found is the very interesting !Khwa Ttu Cultural and Education Centre for the San Culture, where San handicrafts produce and articles of their everyday life can be found. This is one of the oldest existing culture in the world. The San people were the first inhabitants of the southern part of Africa, thanks to their ability to adapt to extreme conditions. Just over half an hour’s drive from Yzerfontein, is the famous West coast Fossil Park. The visitor can attend an informative presentation of the very rich archeological background of the West Coast, or visit the small museum and also at a short walking distance, visit active archeological excavations. Tours of the Fossil Park are organized on a daily basis. Langebaan Lagoon and Village can be reached after a short drive from the Fossil Park. Beautiful beaches and the very attractive turquoise sea of the lagoon makes Langebaan a spot not to be missed. Many restaurants and holiday resorts line the beaches of this lovely destination.
