Kwelanga Country Retreat welcomes you to a world of tranquility. Kwelanga Country Retreat is situated on the coastal highland near George, providing sweeping views across the Indian Ocean. AccommodationAccommodation offered consists of a range of freestanding log cabins, each one with its own private deck and stunning sea views. The inviting atmosphere of each cabin is an invitation to each guest to enjoy their stay just one day longer. All cabins are fully air-conditioned, and equipped with self-catering kitchenettes and comfortable, private bathrooms. The lodge has a large open-plan lounge / bar area, together with Ove’s Restaurant, which extends out onto a large wooden deck overlooking unspoilt coastal bush and astonishing sea view, allowing for outdoor dining when the weather is fine. We serve anything from breakfast, light lunches and a la carte dinners and buffet menus. The large covered barbeque area at the swimming pool is an ideal venue for any formal or informal get-togethers. Braai can be done by yourselves or by our very experienced chef. WeddingsAs a wedding venue, Kwelanga Country Retreat gives the option to have the entire lodge to you and your wedding guests. The ceremony can be held on the wooden deck with guest overlooking the ocean and the reception in Ove’s Restaurant, which can seat small parties to larger gathering. Our in-house wedding coordinator is here to help you every step of the way. A bar is located close to the seating area and the dance area. Every bride and groom needs their day to be special. ConferencingAs a conference venue, Kwelanga Country Retreat gives you tranquility to come and meet in an equipped conference room with air conditioning. The room will comfortably seat 30 delegates. With the restaurant and bar area one either side it make breaks easy and accessible. Kwelanga Country Retreat welcomes any event from birthday parties, year end functions and breakaway weekends. Attractions and ActivitiesKwelanga is 8 minutes from George as well as from the Airport (transport can be arranged). This makes us the ideal base from which to explore the attractions of the Garden Route with your family. There are at least 6 golf courses within striking distance. Horse riding and quad biking can also be enjoyed in the area. Fishing can be done in our small farm dam which is well stocked with large mouth bass. The Outeniqua Choo Tjoe also departs from George to Mossel Bay. This makes us the ideal base from which to explore the attractions of the Garden Route. We at Kwelanga Country Retreat would like to make every guest’s stay and experience as memorable as possible.
