Hakunamatata Lodge and Health Spa is one of the highly recommended Muldersdrift guest houses and provides accommodation in 10 guest rooms for tourists visiting the West Rand region.
About Hakunamatata Lodge and Health Spa
We invite you to experience the luxurious, warm ethnic atmosphere and African charm of Hakunamatata, ideally situated approximately 30 minutes' drive from Sandton and 15 minutes from Lanseria Airport.
With beautiful views and the tranquility of quiet country life, Hakunamatata is the perfect choice for your next weekend getaway. Our fully secured 21 acre estate features luxury accommodation and fully equipped health spa.
ACCOMMODATION
Hakunamatata has 10 beautifully appointed chalets, each with their own unique characteristics. They are all equipped with DSTV, a bar fridge and coffee station, an en-suite bathroom and veranda overlooking our lush gardens. 2 of the chalets are self catering and the others are room only. Breakfast is available at an additional cost.
HEALTH SPA
In our idyllic surroundings, our health spa offers guests a variety of relaxation therapies. Guests are welcome to spend the day, or come for overnight spa packages, some treatments of which can be enjoyed under one of our outdoor thatched lapas, weather permitting.
RESTAURANT AND PUB
With an a la carte restaurant on our premises, all meals can be enjoyed in our dining room or out on our Terrace. We cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner reservations and also have a sports pub where you can watch live sports broadcasts whilst enjoying your meal. Join us every Sunday for a lovely family day out in the country and relax and enjoy a delicious meal with us.
ATTRACTIONS AND SHOPPING
Local attractions such as the Lion Park, Botanical gardens, two game reserves and of course the Cradle of Humankind with the Sterkfontein caves are in close proximity. For the shopping enthusiasts, we are within 10–15 minutes from five major shopping centres.
SPORTS
For sports enthusiasts, there are six golf courses within 20 minutes' drive, a golf range, hot air ballooning and trout fishing, tennis, squash, gym and horse riding facilities are easily accessible.

A fabulous 'out in the bush' atmosphere. It felt as if I was on safari. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bed clean and comfortable. The grounds were amazing! What a perfect place for a wedding. I would have loved to have had the time to laze in one of the tented gazebos with a book and a long cold drink (or even coffee!) and experience more of what the Estate has to offer.I would recommend Hakunamatata to anyone wanting a South African experience.
