Nestled in the prosperous Breede River Valley of Robertson, Goedemoed Guest House welcomes you to the Golden Mile. The famed Mile, also known as Millionaire’s Lane, is home to some of the Cape’s most sought after vineyard estates. Few other regions can boast such a diversity of attractions and activities than what can be found in the western gateway to the R62. Here at Goedemoed Guest House we make a conscious effort to provide you with every little luxury we are capable of, evident in everything from the attention to detail we employed in preparing our guest rooms to the natural hospitality that can only originate from dealing directly with the sole proprietor of the estate. Goedemoed Guest House, located strategically on the local R317, or Golden Mile, remains within a ten-minute driving time from an excessive variety of activities suitable for any willing participant. Additional features: Garden patio Family size pool Secure parking Braai facilities Regret no children under thirteen ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONSThe potential for adventure in the Breede River valley is almost unnerving. Local attractions include cycling both on and off rough terrain; horse riding across the valley’s hard to reach beauty spots and tough 4x4 routes that only the determined should venture through. Water based sports can be singled to canoeing across the Breede river or simply finding a good fishing spot. The truly athletic can explore the valley’s many hiking trails among the peaks, while the passionate golfer can cover the nearest 9-hole course. Of course, Robertson’s main attraction cannot go unmentioned for long, which is why a note of the area’s magnificent wine estates must be made. A wine taster’s paradise, it has been said, can be found no further than the many wine cellars dotted throughout the valley. Setting out upon discovering said paradise can be an arduous journey, especially if your base of exploration is many a kilometre away. It is with this in mind that Goedemoed Guest House is pleased to announce that near to no other place of stay can boast such a close proximity to the R317 wine route. In fact, locating one of these wine cellars is small matter of a walk to the nearest neighbouring estate, which also conveniently doubles as the next-door café and restaurant. Not to neglect those with a creative streak or a well versed knowledge in the arts, Robertson is home to a number of art galleries, glass works and pottery showpieces. For a local taste, native arts range from African design projects to hand made wire sculptures. The history buff will have a field day in Robertson, with its one and a half century past, effectively coming alive in the local museum. No person shall be left unsatisfied, which leaves us cordially inviting you to join us for a stay, a drink and perhaps, a memory ... ACCREDITATIONS
