We are just off the main road between South Africa and Botswana, on the R380, 180 km from Kuruman and 16 km from McCarthy’s Rest border post. We cater for various tastes of accommodation. We are in a relatively remote part of South Africa so we love visitors. Because our guests are so special to us, we tend to really spoil them. Our farm, Cullinan, caters for various tastes with the following types of accommodation.

Accommodation


Guest House
The Guest House has five tastefully decorated double rooms, all en-suite. Guests have full access to their own lounge and meals are served in a spacious thatched lapa or dining room. Our rates include a hearty breakfast. Other meals are gladly catered for on request.

Rustic Chalets
The outdoor enthusiasts can book a rustic chalet, set amongst the red Kalahari sands and shady camel thorn trees. This is the place to stay if you want to be in touch with this unique eco system. Fully equipped for self-catering with refrigerator, stove and cutlery. Eight people can be accommodated.

Camping Site
Camping in your own tent is also available with full ablution facilities with hot water, shady camping spots and free firewood. Especially suitable for those who prefer to spend their evenings under their own canvas. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets, star filled nights and the uniqueness of the beautiful Kalahari.

Attractions


Take time out to explore the veld. The small sand creatures, the unique vegetation and plants, The birdlife - from the industrious sociable weavers with their colossal communal nests to a host of powerful raptors. The magnificent antelopes - from small steenbok to the large but graceful gemsbok. And at the end of the day experience awesome sunsets and night skies that are crowded with stars.

Activities


Investigate the working of a cattle farm. Hiking, donkey cart riding, game viewing and bird watching. Tennis, swimming and photography is also available.
