Come spend the day with us or overnight in our newly finished caravan facilities or camp sites. Our vision is to make your stay as comfortable as possible and for you to leave with a new sense of understanding of these Gentle giants ... the Crocodile.

Crocodylus Private Sanctuary and Ostrich Farm is ideally located just off the N2 National Road; 10 kilometers south of the Hluhluwe off ramp and 85 Kilometers North Of Empangeni, Richards Bay. The access road is just off the tar road and the roads in the property are well maintained. Please follow the signs to reception on arrival.

We are ideally situated as a stop over for the people who are on their way up to Swaziland, Mozambique and the Kruger National Park. We support the Arrive Alive campaign and offer good hospitality to all that need to stop even if it is just to stretch their legs, use the spacious ablution facilities and have a cup of our famous coffee.

Accommodation

There are 3 electrified caravan sites with water access and Braai facilities. We have camp sites available as well. Please bring your own tent and bedding and you will find our hospitality second to none.

The showers were built with Nature in Mind. They were built under a beautiful acacia tree. The entrance to the male showers is through a natural split in the tree. The showers are spacious and have both hot and cold running water.

At night you can sit around the bonfire area with a beer in your hand and listen to stories of “The True Africa of Old” and watch the starts in the warm night sky. On moon lit nights you will hear the call of the zebra, the reedbuck and many other animals.

Restaurant

There is a 36 seater tea garden / restaurant that is open during the day for cool drinks, coffee / tea and light lunches. There are also steaks and crocodile steaks on offer. Guests can book their dinners in advance and there is a large range to choose from. For a family an African Bush Braai or a South African Pootjie can be organised. The tea garden / restaurant is totally wheelchair friendly with paraplegic toilet facilities available.

Activities

There is a bunny park for the children with swings and a small jungle gym. Crocodile and Ostrich guided tours can be booked or you may wish to take a self guided tour. Guests staying the night get a reduced rate on these tours. Mr. Vernon Diggins is well known for his in depth knowledge of animals and the guided tour is guaranteed to be fun no matter what the weather. You will have many stories and photo’s to take away with you ... you may even be brave enough to hold and kiss a baby crocodile.

Crocodylus Private Sanctuary and Ostrich Farm is located just 13 kilometers from the Memorial Gate of the World Renown Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game Reserve, 80 kilometers from Sodwana Bay Scuba diving sites and 70 kilometers from Lake St Lucia World Heritage Site. The town of Hluhluwe is only 15 kilometers away if you need to re-supply.
