Accommodation - The Campsite
The Boontjies Rivier Campsite is situated on a working citrus farm just 3km out of Citrusdal. Here you can experience nature at its best as it is unspoilt and private. The Boontjies Rivier Campsite has two sites to setup camp on, one is underneath a big tree for great shade and the other is near the river. Both sites have their own power outlet and the ablutions are modernly done, but to fit in with the natural surroundings. The campsite is perfect for two small groups or one bigger private group of about 20 people in total.
The river is unfortunately too shallow and rocky for use of canoes, but great for swimming or fishing. If you bring your own mountain bikes, you would be able to ride along the gravel roads to appreciate the beautiful surroundings.
The Citrusdal village is situated 175 km from Cape Town in the famous Cederberg Wilderness area. The Oliphants River flows right through the valley all year round and the area produces a variety of citrus fruits, soft fruits, Rooibos tea, wine and the medicinal herb Buchu.

The village itself has numerous activities you can take part in, which include a golf course, mountain biking trail, tennis courts, 4x4 trails, hiking trails and amazing scenic routes on four different passes. In town there are three lovely coffee shops and four steak houses to choose from.
