ArnistonThe famous fisherman's heritage housing town Kassiesbaai is in itself a declared museum and the two craft shops is an attraction in addition to the local fisherman's culture and unique architecture that inspired many artists to date. The De Hoop Nature Reserve borders Arniston/Waenhuiskans, 45 minutes drive away with the famous whale hiking trails with both one day and up to 5 day excursions. Wildlife, fynbos and birdlife in abundance. Largest concentration of Southern Right whales along South African coast from July to November. The best windless winters to spend with the best local red wines. Unspoiled beaches with warm seawater for almost all year swimming, creating the best offshore fishing and beach angling spots for Galjoen, Cape Salmon, Yellow Tail, Kabbeljou and Elf. The Waenhuis Cave, partly under water, is a landmark. The fisherman's village was named after the HMS Arniston that was shipwrecked in 1815, linked with the name of the enormous cave. 20 Minutes drive to the southernmost tip of Africa, L'Agulhas Lighthouse, museum and Struisbaai. De Mond Nature Reserve the most secret and unknown gem of all environmental experiences with walking trails, bird watching and indigenous plant species beyond imagination,15 minutes away towards Struisbaai.
