Christo & Ethel are your hosts at this idyllic location, situated in Arniston Bay. Arniston B&B is situated on the East Coast of South Africa, close to Bredasdorp. An ideal place to relax and get away from it all. Yet with all your home comforts.
Arniston / Waenhuiskrans is a secluded small town squeezed between the southern tip of Africa and the De Hoop Nature Reserve, two hours drive from Cape Town along open farm and rural countryside, from the N2 via Caledon and Bredasdorp, all via good tarred roads. The ultimate relaxed, private holiday in a small environment surrounded by heritage sites.
Arniston B&B has a warm friendly home from home atmosphere. You will enjoy the comfort of crispy fresh accommodation with your own private patio where breath taking sunsets and stars meet the eye. Your hosts Christo and Ethel will assist you in all your needs as far as possible. Enjoy the fynbos and beautiful sunsets from your room or patio's.
Arniston B&B has a warm, friendly atmosphere and offers three well equipped bedrooms with en-suite (showers) and fans or air con, all with sliding doors onto private patio's with outside braai's (BBQ,s).
One bedroom with en-suite (shower) has air con with lounge, kitchenette, DStv, fireplace and private patio with outside braai (BBQ).
Extras: Trays with coffee, tea and rusks. 2 rooms with air conditioning and 2 rooms with fans. Hairdryers. Heaters. Small fridges. Radios.
Breakfast and drinks are available on the premises at extra cost.
The famous fisherman's heritage housing town Kassiesbaai is in itself a declared museum and the two craft shops is an attraction in addition to the local fisherman's culture and unique architecture that inspired many artists to date.
The De Hoop Nature Reserve borders Arniston/Waenhuiskans, 45 minutes drive away with the famous whale hiking trails with both one day and up to 5 day excursions. Wildlife, fynbos and birdlife in abundance. Largest concentration of Southern Right whales along South African coast from July to November.
The best windless winters to spend with the best local red wines. Unspoiled beaches with warm seawater for almost all year swimming, creating the best offshore fishing and beach angling spots for Galjoen, Cape Salmon, Yellow Tail, Kabbeljou and Elf. The Waenhuis Cave, partly under water, is a landmark. The fisherman's village was named after the HMS Arniston that was shipwrecked in 1815, linked with the name of the enormous cave.
20 minutes drive to the southernmost tip of Africa, L'Agulhas Lighthouse, museum and Struisbaai. De Mond Nature Reserve the most secret and unknown gem of all environmental experiences with walking trails, bird watching and indigenous plant species beyond imagination,15 minutes away towards Struisbaai. On your way, not to be missed is the Bredasdorp Shipwreck Museum, pottery, botanical gardens and candle factory.
