We spent a great few days at the Amber Guest Lodge. The accomodation is spotless and the staff are very friendly. Ted and Jean are wonderful hosts and make your stay very special.

Stayed with Ted and Jean for 6 nights in February-our second visit-and found that their high standards have been maintained! No hesitation in recommending this accommodation, a true home from home, and should we go back to Knysna next year 'Amber' will be first choice! |

I can't fault this place...and I can find fault with just about anywhere. I stay in a four star or five star hotel on businessfor almost 80 nights of the year so you become very picky in these circumstances, but the guest lodge is superb.
All rooms are suites, so even if you are staying bed and breakfast, you have the separate lounge/dining room, its clean it looks brand new, very stylish contemporary decor. Nice homely touches...like an air freshener in the bathroom (you don't get that in your big - brand hotels!) There's a plunge pool for cooling off, that's also spotlessly clean. The hosts are friendly and chatty and can recommend trips if required....and the fried bread at breakfast is the best I've EVER had!!!

We don't have a single critiscism of Amber Guest Lodge! A truly pleasurable experience. Ted & Jean were the nicest hosts. The rooms were spacious and luxurious, the pool was clean, and the overall feel was warm and friendly.
You must stay here if you go to Knysna.

Just a short note from Chrissie and I to thank your both for the extremely and enjoyable stay at Amber Guest Lodge.
I travel extensively, and have stayed in many guest houses around Southern Africa, but never have I experiienced the homeliness and friendliness of Amber Guest Lodge. Nothing was too much trouble, and the breakfasts were outstanding. Your four star rating is well deserved.
I will have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Amber Guest Lodge to anyone, and will definitely book with you when next in the area.
