Experience an explosion of space, colour and amazing views. Amaluti, named for its superb position overlooking the golf course, willow dam and rolling hills to the distant Maluti Mountains, has the wow factor in every sense. The lodge is luxurious, the ambience is special. Trees shield it from the village and it is both peaceful and relaxing. The open plan design, elegant décor and unique frameless glass walls all enhance the stunning views by bringing the outside in.
Situated in the best part of the Clarens Golf and Trout Estate Amaluti is an easy three hour drive from Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg and Bloemfontein, or four from Durban.
Amaluti can be leased in different ways:
• The whole house, sleeping up to 8 adults and 4 children (or 10 adults)
• The upper level sleeping up to 4 adults and 4 children (or 6 adults)
• The lower level sleeping up to 4 adults
There are four double en suite bedrooms; two upstairs and two down, each with its own colour scheme. The rooms have either king-size double beds or twin beds. All have luxurious linen, superbly comfortable mattresses, masses of super soft pillows, down duvets, electric blankets and under-floor heating to ensure a good night’s rest in even the coldest weather.
The bathrooms, ‘open plan’ behind the bedrooms, are screened by the bed head walls, which also house the generous built-in cupboards. They have luxury fittings, a glass shower, a floating basin and matching ‘Perfekt’ bath, which can accommodate two good friends at a time! Charlotte Rhys toiletries, luxurious cotton bath sheets and twin dressing gowns complete the ensemble.
The loft upstairs is the ‘Quarterdeck’ for children where they can be on their own but ‘at hand’ for supervision. They have two three quarter beds, a double sofa bed and their own shower and basin with toilet.
The open plan kitchen on the upper level is spacious and fitted with all that a chef could want, including gas hob, electric oven, microwave, a wine chiller, frost free deep freeze and fridge, dishwasher and H2O water filter. The serving counter gives ready access to the dining table that can seat twelve. Adjacent is the bar unit.
The living area is uncluttered, with one seating area around the gas fireplace and TV (with DSTV and PVR) and another in front of the folding glass wall, that brings the outside in and the inside out, providing spectacular, uninterrupted views. Outside is a separate patio with verandah furniture and gas braai.
Downstairs, as well as two bedrooms, has a mini kitchen, sitting area, TV and gas braai. It has walk-through folding glass doors, which open directly onto the garden and commonage adjacent to the golf course. It is a short walk down to the 14th green and willow dotted trout dam.
There is a double garage and covered parking for four cars.
Amaluti is serviced daily from 8am to 4pm by helpful and efficient Anna Mlangeni or Jeanette Miya who clean and make beds but do not cook. (On Sundays they go off at 2pm.)
Clarens is beautiful at any time of the year. It is charming and friendly with exciting places to visit and things to do. There is something to please everyone. Bring your friends; come and improve your golf; enjoy the scenery; indulge in retail therapy or experience some of the exciting outdoor activities such as white water rafting or quad bike trails.
The village has many fine restaurants, a local brewery and art & craft shops. Cultural visits can readily be arranged to local villages, as well as the many archaeological and historic sites in the area. Ten kilometers down the road is the Golden Gate National Park; renowned for wonderful scenery in and around the Drakensberg range.
Gavin will be delighted to arrange and help with your stay and we hope we will see you and your friends soon.
We regret that we do not allow smoking in the house, nor is it suitable for pets.
