The accommodation offers stylishly decorated double en suite rooms, all with private entrances, secure off street parking and self catering facilities.
The new wing built early this year has two air-conditioned en suite double rooms with kitchenettes and solid double interleading doors either for privacy or to be opened up to suit the guest looking for a family unit. For families with smaller children, many families have enjoyed the double room which has the addition of a sleeper couch. A portable braai can be arranged for those who enjoy relaxing outside on a lovely still Eastern Cape evening.
If you are looking for a true home away from home experience with extremely comfortable beds, beautifully decorated rooms and a good hearty breakfast, African Sands has it all for you. For the corporate world, African Sands is very centrally situated with easy access to the highway on the one side and the popular beachfront restaurants on the other. The airport is closeby and also Port Elizabeth’s railway station where the Premier Class train leaves for Cape Town. Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University is approximately six kilometres from African Sands.

Activities and Attractions
Humewood is situated close to the Boardwalk Casino and Shopping Centre, Port Elizabeth’s premier entertainment complex with boutique stores, kiddie game centres, movie houses and restaurants. Humewood’s famous 18 hole links golf course is nearby and ranks in the top 20 of South Africa’s golf courses and is often thought of as one of the world’s most challenging links courses.
Port Elizabeth has many historical attractions, one the most interesting being the Historic Donkin Heritage trail which allows the visitor to follow in the footsteps of the 1820 Settlers on their journey of discovery and settlement. This 5 km trail visits 47 historical sites and architectural delights in the Old Hill area of central PE. For an enjoyable days outing, you could visit the lion cubs at Seaview Game Park or the tame cheetah at Kragga Kamma Game Park, both a mere 30 minute drive from African Sands.
Port Elizabeth is just two hours drive from a number of game reserves, including the exclusive Shamwari Game Reserve which is home to the ‘Big Five’ of Africa. The Addo Elephant Park is an hours drive away and dedicated to the preservation of the Eastern Cape Elephant and the Cape Buffalo. The region is proud to be Malaria free.
