Hermanus is built along the shores of Walker Bay near the Southern most tip of Africa. Magnificent mountains watch over the town which is home of the Southern Right Whale. Nature lovers from all over the world visit Hermanus to view these magnificent creatures from the best land based whale watching destination in the world.

Accommodation


All our rooms are en-suite with panoramic sea and mountain views. Each room is individually appointed with original South African art and decor. All our rooms have private balconies or patios. Most rooms are twin bedded. Room 1 and 6 can be made up into King size beds on request. All rooms have Satellite TV's, Telephones, Underfloor Heating, Personalised Linen, Heated Towel Rails, Overhead Fans, Tea and Coffee making Facilities, Internet and Wireless throughout the Lodge & Fax facilities.

Conferences


Conferencing venue available all year round. Abalone Lodge can host 25 people for day conferences. Lunches and dinners can be arranged.

Activities


Hermanus offers the best land based whale watching in the world. About 150 whales visit Hermanus between July and December every year and come to within 10 meters of the shore. An adult whale can be up to 15.5 meters long and weigh up to 60 tons.
