The lovely village of Schoemansville, one of the oldest suburbs lying around Hartbeespoort Dam, is positioned directly as one exits the elaborate bridge and tunnel that serves as passage over the dam. This part of the world is extremely picturesque. The Magaliesberg mountain range is a striking backdrop, whilst the body of glimmering water lies in the foreground. Yachts bob on the water at the Schoemansville yacht club, and the dam has become something of a mecca for city dwellers from Jo’burg and Pretoria alike over weekends.
