Situated in the heart of the hamlet of Natures Valley, which is part of the Tsitsikamma National Park on the Garden Route, we are surrounded by spectacular beaches and the sound of crashing waves is interspersed only with that of the garden’s singing birds and trickling water features. We are approximately 50 m from the beach where you can lay soaking up the sun while watching dolphins playing in the surf or the breaching whales celebrating new life. The lodge is mostly wooden in structure and truly blends with the natural forest in Natures Valley. Boasting a lush and natural garden that makes you feel you really are hidden away from the world around you. This is a Honeymooners paradise! ACCOMMODATIONWe have 3 different room types from our Standard Double Rooms which have an en-suite shower only, our Superior Doubles which have a en-suite bath / shower combo and our luxury Honeymoon Suite. This boasts a handmade king-size yellowwood bed, large spa bath, double shower, fireplace and private deck. DINING & LODGE FACILITIESDining can either be enjoyed indoors in the spacious and open dining area or on the outdoor verandah looking into the top of the canopy trees giving you the feel of being in a tree-house. The garden is host to a swimming pool, as well as a private and unique hot pool. A definite must for after dinner! FOR BIRDERSNature’s Valley is one of the top birding sites for the casual birder or the ardent “twitcher” with sightings of the Knysna Turaco (Lourie), Narina Trogon, Blackheaded Oriole, African Black Oystercatcher & the ever elusive African Finfoot, just to name a few of the specials in the area. We guarantee you will notch up one or two unique sightings. ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONSSome of the most magnificent hiking trails with unrivalled views of sea, forest, waterfalls and lagoon will leave you breathless. Our Salt River trail is a favourite add-on to the famous Otter Trail (one we fondly call our “mini otter”). If you are an early riser, you may be lucky enough to spot our resident family of otters on the beach or scrambling over the rocks. Regular Bush Buck and Bush Pig sightings in the village will enthrall you and there is always the chance of the elusive leopards that hide out in the forest. For those who love fishing, we have the full range of options from surf and rock to flying fishing in the lagoon with many different species to challenge the intrepid fisherman. On offer from the lodge, are double kayaks available for exploring the beautiful lagoon estuary whether to go birding, fishing or taking yourself off to some secluded spot for a romantic picnic to soak up the magic of the ancient forest. DIRECTIONS: Directions from Port Elizabeth: Take the N2 for approx 165 kms, once you pass the Boskor plant (on the right) you will come to a sign for Coldstream on the right, this road will take you along the Bloukrans Pass – a lovely scenic alternative route. Once out of the pass you will drive over the bridge over the N2 and will be traveling along the R102. Follow the R102 until you get down into the valley. (There is only 1 entrance into Natures Valley). Go left into the valley, The 2nd street on the right is St. George’s Avenue. Take St. George’s all the way until you reach the end of the valley, where the shop and restaurant is. (about 1.9km). Drive past the restaurant (which will be on your left) and past the small parking area. Directly after the parking area you’ll see our gate with our sign on your left. Directions from Cape Town: On the N2, we are approximately 27 km past Plettenberg Bay. Turn right at the R102/Nature’s Valley sign. Proceed for about 10 km, until you get down into the valley. (there is only 1 entrance into the village). Turn right in to the village and proceed to the 2nd street on you right. (St. George’s Ave.) Follow St. George’s Avenue until you reach the end of the village. You will find the shop on your left, next to the shop is the restaurant.
