DESCRIPTION:

Situated on the river-front 3km from the village of Sedgefield, Purple Heron Guest House looks out onto the beautiful Swartvlei River and the breathtaking Outeniqua mountains. This is nature’s paradise - no traffic, no crowds, no noise except that of the birds and the waves breaking on the nearby beaches.

It is best to come and stay for a few blissful days but after even only one night, you will wake up feeling on top of the world. You will be rested and ready to explore the beaches, the hiking and cycling trails, the bird hides or the many art exhibitions and craft shops. Or maybe, you would just like to stroll around The Island and enjoy nature at its best.

Sedgefield has the most wonderful coffee shops and restaurants, a beauty and health spa, bass/lagoon or sea fishing, tandem para-gliding and some of the world’s top golf courses just 30 minutes away! A visit to the famous Wild Oats Farmers’ Market is of course, a must on Saturday morning! And then, there are all the attractions of other nearby towns such as Knysna and Oudtshoorn to go and see - if you have the time!
