DESCRIPTION:

Hammock Island Loft apartment is situated on Thesen Island; a secure, marina area that used to be the site of the Thesen Ship and Timber Yard. The development has received international recognition and also includes Thesen Harbour Town with 3 restaurants and the now famous île de païn bakery / coffee shop. Hammock Island Loft commands the perfect position with a west-facing sundeck and uninterrupted water frontage.

Accommodation


The apartment has a private entrance with three, large rooms and sleeps two adults in a queen size, extra length bed. It is fully self-contained with modern appliances including TV with Mnet, a DVD player with 55 movie titles, wireless internet availability and an iPod docking station. The kitchen has an espresso and filter coffee machine in addition to a juicer, blender, fridge/freezer and micro/convection/grill combo. The bathroom has his and hers basins set in a Caesar stone countertop and a large shower.

On Site Facilities


Recreational facilities in the complex include a wild bird hide, 18 hole putting course and squash and tennis courts. There is off-road parking and a boat launch site within 25m of the apartment. The marina opens into the Knysna lagoon and is perfect for paddling. Two private and very safe swimming areas are available within the marina complex. All this with 24 hr security.

Attractions and Activities


Thesen Harbour Town is within walking distance, along a suspension walkway, and includes various shops, a Sunday Arts and Crafts market and a luxurious Spa facility. The region is ideal for mountain and road biking with numerous off-road trails.

There are world famous golf courses nearby including Pezula, Simola and Fancourt in George, home of Ernie Els and the host venue for the 2003 Presidents Cup.

Game reserves are easily reached from the loft with an Elephant Touch-farm, Tree-top Canopy traverse and Forest walks all within 50km. Great White Shark Cage Diving and the Addo Elephant Park, featuring the Big 7, are a day trip away.

Knysna is a historic town with modern banking facilities, expert medical care and the tourist support that you would expect. Numerous festivals and sporting events take place during the year with the Knysna Oyster Festival an annual event in July. The fruit, vegetables and fish available in the area are of the highest standard. You will find holidaying in Knysna an absolute pleasure.

The apartment is up a flight of stairs on the first floor and does not have wheel-chair facilities.
The Apartment sleeps only two guests and has no crib or baby care facilities.
