Attractions & Activities

We are situated right at the beginning of the world famous "Garden Route" only one hours drive from Oudshoorn, the Ostrich Farms and the Cango Caves.

Activities
Ride elephants in Botlierskop Game Reserve. Take a boat trip to Seal Island, whale watching (from July - November), shark-cage diving and scuba diving, walk the Oyster Catcher Trail along the coast from a Khoi San cave ending at the Gouritz River mouth, or take a helicopter flip over the town and bay (in season only). Bungee jumping, bridge swinging and abseiling are available half an hour away.

We also have several beaches one of which is Santos which is two minutes in the car or you can walk it in ten. This beach in particular normally has small waves which makes it ideal for small children or serious swimmers. The Mossel Bay Golf Club is just up the road where you can see the sea from every tee.

Mossel Bay is also a very historical town. Visit the Museum Complex and see a life-size replica of the Dias Caravel boat plus the Cultural Museum, the Shell Museum, the aquarium, and the 500 year old Post Office Tree. Watch artists at work at the Crafts Art Workshop, or go on a "Meet the people" Tour.

Then you have +/- 10km of a straight road before going through a set of traffic lights with Chequers centre on your right. Then another set of lights with the fire station on the right.

Not far after that you must change to the left hand lane so that you can take the pre-selection called MARSH STREET, you will then come to a T junction (Marsh Street) and will see the Spar centre across the road to your left, TURN RIGHT and go down the hill to the lights at the bottom which is where Marsh Street crosses Church Street (Kerk st) TURN RIGHT at the traffic lights into Kerk Street and then take the forth turning on the left which is Bruns Road (there is a brown sign for the Mossel Bay Guest House).

From George along N2 Highway
Take the Mossel Bay exit (393) which is the R102. At the stop street turn LEFT then RIGHT at the traffic lights (You will see Langeberg Shopping Mall opposite you).

Continue for about 5 km going through 3 sets of traffic lights, then take the turnoff to the left into Mossel Bay George Street (there are some Thatched cottages on the left). At the next set of traffic lights turn right into Church Street (Kerk St) and then take the forth turning on the left which is Bruns Road (there is a brown sign for the Mossel Bay Guest House).
