DESCRIPTION:
Ballot’s House Guest Lodge is a historical Country House nestled in the heart of George, at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains. Set in a large tree-filled garden offering four bedrooms, all en-suite with private entrances. High ceilings and wooden floors with Cape and European furnishings are complimented with homely amenities, fresh flowers and luxurious facilities.
Ballot’s House combines a warm, cosy intimate ambience with simple luxury. Enjoy facilities such as a fireplace in the lounge, a pool, tennis court. Internet access, DSTV and complimentary tea and coffee facilities as well as your own bar fridge are provided in your room. Guest vehicles will be kept safe with on site secure parking.
Accommodation
FAR ROOM:
This is a large room which opens out onto an undercover ‘stoep’ with beautiful mountain views. The room is furnished with old Cape furniture, decorated in white with a touch of amber and has beautiful Cape etchings on the walls. The bathroom is en-suite with a shower and large bath. There is one king size bed, one single or two ¾ beds.
Gigi’s Room:
This is a large room fitted with beautiful new twin beds and has antique European furnishings which opens out onto the 'stoep’ where one can sit and enjoy mountain views. Long wooden shutters allow for airflow on warm summer nights.
Pool Room:
This is a small cosy room with Cape furnishings. The room opens out onto a small private ‘stoep’ which overlooks the pool and garden. Wooden shutters with open doors allow for airflow on warm summer nights. There is an en-suite bathroom (shower only) and a double bed.
Upstairs Room:
This is a large spacious room with beautiful Cape furnishings and wooden floors (one needs to tread lightly). The room boasts beautiful mountain views. The en-suite bathroom has a bath and hand held shower and the bedroom has a king size bed which may be converted into a twin.

Location
We are centrally situated, off the main street (York Street) of town close to the Judicial Courts, hospitals, the George Golf Course, churches, the sports pavilion, schools and trendy good restaurants.
George is the epicentre of the Garden Route and is often used by travellers as a base to explore Mossel Bay (40 minutes to the South), Oudtshoorn for the Cango Caves and ostrich farms (1 hour travelling by car to the north). Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay are small and interesting towns to the East.

There is an abundance of activities, parks and beaches which offer entertainment and sport for your family. George and the surrounding areas have several safe and child friendly destinations. |

DIRECTIONS:
From Cape Town, head south-east on Darling Street towards Parade Street. Turn left onto Castle Street. Turn right onto Strand Street. Merge onto the N2 via the ramp to Somerset/Muizenberg. Continue for 4 km. Take a slight left onto Settler Way and continue for 17 km. Continue onto the N2. After 410 km, take exit 437 for the N9/N12 towards George/Oudtshoorn. Turn left onto the N12/N9. Go through one traffic circle and continue for 5.8 km. Turn right onto Caledon Street. Ballots House Guest Lodge will be situated on your left-hand side.
