ACCOMMODATION


The interior of the house is a delight, with a mixture of auction and flee markets finds from around the world, oriental carpets, silver, original art and fine junk - not just another hotel room! All our en-suite bedrooms are furnished with a unique sense of style, exquisite linen and 100% extra fine cotton sheets.

Four of the seven rooms are luxurious with self catering facilities but you still are able to enjoy our colourful breakfast! These rooms boast air conditioners, under-floor heating in the bathrooms and heated towel rails! All our rooms include the every day necessities. From filter coffee facilities to laundry and transport services - we will try to make your stay memorable and comfortable.

Breakfast
Our breakfast is delicious, from freshly squeezed orange juice, wonderful sweet South African fruit in all kinds of servings, homemade pastries and muffins, cold meats and cheese - to a hot English breakfast!

Dinners
Dinners are offered on request. We try to make all our meals a real South African experience!

Hotspot - Free Internet Access with wireless facilities: Yes, we are also a hotspot! - a great service that we provide is free 24 hour internet access with wireless facilities. You will be able to trade your stock exchange next to our pool, or catch up with all your mail from business and family alike. If you are a traveler - we have a computer especially for you!

Location


George is quite central in the Southern Cape, an excellent choice to use as your base while playing golf or traveling to all the local tourist destinations and it's convenient to do your day trips from here! To the north, Oudtshoorn and the Cango Caves are just 45 minutes; to the east - Knysna is 45 minutes. and to the west; Mossel Bay is 30minutes! Acorn Guest House again is very central in town; just of the main road, in a quiet street, within walking distance to excellent restaurants.

Attractions & Activities


Here are some magnificent mountain passes which are quite accessible by motor vehicle, scenic beaches for swimming or unspoiled hikes to a ship wreck, canoeing in a forest and a variety of different wild life parks on our doorstep. The Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steam locomotive starts its popular puffing a mere kilometer from our house. Colin is a registered tour guide and very passionate about this area. He will be able to assist you with daily plannings, bookings or arrange guided tours to the township, boating trips for birders/fishermen on the lakes or custom tours of this diverse area.

Golf


The Garden Route is famous for all the excellent golf courses - 3 of the 10 best golf courses in South Africa, are located here and Ernie Els' newly developed signature course, OuBaai, is a 15 min. drive away!! George Golf Course is rated the 9th best course in South Africa and because of our excellent weather conditions, this stunning green course is playable all year round.

Some other courses in this area include the wind swept course in Mossel Bay, to the parsh dry, semi desert conditions in Oudtshoorn and then the majestic views of Pezula Golf Estate in Knysna.
