DESCRIPTION:
Experience country life in the city. Our two comfortable private cottages are situated in the tranquil surroundings of the Irene Security Village. This is a haven where the business and holiday traveller alike, can relax and unwind.
In the words of the Irene Landowners Association We are a neighbourhood where we know and care for each other. Our children ride their bicycles in the streets and we walk our dogs on the Oval. Magnificent old trees provide the background music for our village charm and birdsong.
Accommodation
Both our cottages have private entrances and are tastefully decorated using only quality percale linen.
Cottage 1
Has a double bed with a view of the garden and a separate lounge and kitchenette. It also has a 3-G signal enhancer for use with your laptop.
Cottage 2
Is an open plan cottage with 2 single beds and a lounge and kitchenette area. Wireless connection to the internet is possible from this cottage.
Both cottages
A well-equipped kitchenette with self-catering facilities, including crockery, cutlery, an electric frying pan, a microwave oven and a bar fridge
Tea and coffee-making facilities with home-made rusks
Small but well-appointed en-suite bathrooms with a shower, basin, toilet and shelves for your toiletries
A comfortable sofa and television with limited DSTV channels as well as a DVD player
Your own piece of garden with braai facilities
Secure parking and an indoor and outdoor electronic protection system linked to an armed response company
Electronic laptop-safes
Attractions and Activities
You too can stroll safely under huge old trees to visit some of the historic sites in Irene. Irene Primary school (originally built for concentration camp children) and the Irene Concentration Camp Graveyard are about 2 km away. Or visit the hundred year old Irene Dairy. Here you can lounge in the farm restaurant under giant oak trees and watch the cows come in to be milked or browse through the delicatessen for fresh farm milk and various other home-made goodies.
Location
Despite the old world charm and sense of history in Irene, this suburb is located in close proximity to a Virgin Active Gymnasium, three major business centres namely The Centurion Mall, Southdowns Shopping Centre and Irene Village Mall, Intercare Medical Centre, cinemas, golf courses, a driving range, an internet cafι and many fine restaurants. We even have an excellent Italian Restaurant just down the road.
The Village B&B is also within easy reach of Oliver Thambo and Lanseria Airports, Unitas Hospital and Loftus Versveld. |
