We provide pet friendly, private, fully contained self catering cottages. Explore nature with your best friend and find yourself again. No crowds, no traffic jams, no hurry, just Nature. A home from home for you and your best friend. AccommodationCottages At Saamrus we have given each cottage a homely feel. We have endeavoured to think of every convenience to make your stay more comfortable - however we are always open to new suggestions. Please note that the cottages on the hill are only accessible by 4 x 4, or bakkie. We offer transport up and down the hill on arrival and departure for people coming by car. All Cottages are equipped as follows • All Cottages are fenced in for the dogs. • Kitchens - Fridge, microwave, two plate stove, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, dishwashing liquid and dishcloths. Braai utensils are also included. • Bathrooms - All cottages have showers, and some also have baths. Towels, soap, air freshener and toilet paper are supplied. • Bedrooms - Bed linen, pillows and blankets are supplied. Tarentaal and Kiewiet (both sleep 2) Close to the river walks, surrounded by indigenous trees with views toward the woodland koppie. This is a bird lovers paradise! Ideal for a couple, or two friends, sharing. Karee and Olienhout (both sleep 2) These romantic and cosy cottages have views in all directions. They have been built far apart for privacy and seclusion. Suitable for a couple or two friends sharing. Akasia (sleeps 2 - 4) Situated on the hill in the veld, Akasia is a comfortable one bedroom cottage with views in all directions. Suitable for one couple, or four people HoepHoep (sleeps 2 - 6) Situated at the foot of the koppie with dense indigenous trees behind it and a meadow in front. It is close to the river walks, very private. Suitable for a couple, or family group up to six. Suikerbos (sleeps 2 - 6) Suikerbos is popular for its large wooden deck with stunning views of the mountains. It has two en-suite bedrooms, (showers only), and two divan beds in the lounge. Ideal for two couples sharing - or a large family group up to six. At Saamrus you will find• Wide open views as well as indigenous woodland and veld. • Easy walks along the river and more adventurous hikes across the hills. • Bird watchers and nature photographers paradise. • Pets are really welcome and not just tolerated! • Each cottage is fenced, for the dogs. • Private braai at each cottage. • Fireplaces in all cottages for long winter evenings or rainy days. • Ceiling fans and wall heaters, for comfort in winter or summer. • All cottages are private, and some are very secluded. • Day visitors welcome - booking essential as only limited numbers allowed. DIRECTIONS: Directions From Pretoria North: Take the Pelindaba toll road out of the city to Hartbeespoort Dam. Get off the toll road at Pelindaba Toll Plaza and turn left towards the R104/R512 passing the dam on the left hand side. Continue all the way to the T-junction with the R560 Krugersdorp Road. At the T-junction turn left onto the R560 towards Krugersdorp. Continue on the R560 past Skeerpoort and Hekpoort for approx 40kms. Just before the end of the R560, close to the R24 T-junction you will see the Saamrus sign on your right. Turn right onto the farmroad. Continue for 2km to Saamrus. You will drive through two other farms before you get to us. Follow the signs along the way. Directions from Pretoria East/South: Take the N14/R28 to Krugersdorp. At the traffic lights, N14/Hendrick Potgieter intersection (there is a SASOL garage) turn right towards Tarlton/Ventersdorp. Continue towards the next T-junction for approx. 10kms. At the T-junction, turn right on the R563 towards Hekpoort. Continue for 23kms to the next T-junction in Hekpoort. Turn left onto the R560. Continue for approx. 15kms. Just before the end of the R560, close to the R24 T-junction, you will see the Saamrus sign on your right. Turn right onto the farmroad. Continue for 2km to Saamrus. You will drive through two other farms before you get to us. Follow the signs along the way. From Johannesburg North: Take the N14/R28 to Krugersdorp and continue as above. From Johannesburg Central and West: Take the R47/Hendrick Potgieter towards Tarlton. At the N14 Krugersdorp intersection, cross straight over and continue to the T-junction at the R563. Continue for 23kms to the next T-junction in Hekpoort. Turn left onto the R560. Continue for approx. 15kms. Just before the end of the R560, close to the R24 T-junction, you will see the Saamrus sign on your right. Turn right onto the farmroad. Continue for 2km to Saamrus.
