ACCOMMODATION


All our rooms are spacious, double bedrooms with queen size beds and cotton bed linen of the best quality. Most rooms overlook the Melville Koppies and surrounding parks. Each room has a private bathroom (with bath and shower, and “state of the art” sanware and bathroom facilities), built-in-cupboards, stylish furniture, tea / coffee making facilities, a fully stocked mini bar, hair dryer, bath robes, radio, telephone, lock up safe, and big screen satellite television. Six rooms each have a private balcony / patio and one of the suites also has a Jacuzzi bath plus shower in the en-suite bathroom.

We also cater for disabled guests.

We are just minutes away from the city centre, bus stops, Universities (WITS and UJ), ABSA Training Centre, the SABC, banking malls, shopping malls, Parkview golf course, Johannesburg Zoo, Emmarentia dam (for canoeing or paddling), many parks, spin studios, gyms, theatres and casinos, other Northern suburbs (Sandton, Randburg, Killarney, Rosebank, Melrose Arch, Roodepoort, Cresta, Northcliff etc.), Braamfontein, Doornfontein, and major Freeways and Highways into all directions.

Melville has a lively village and “vibey” atmosphere. Shopping will be a pleasure here as well as in the surrounding shopping malls. Some of Johannesburg’s best restaurants (50+), pubs and night venues are within walking distance. Melville Koppies nature reserve and Bird Park is virtually on our doorstep. Hike in a habitat preserved as Johannesburg was long ago.

DIRECTIONS:

From the airport take the R24 to JHB, then N12 to JHB and then M2W JHB. CBD will be on right of highway. Take Sandton / PTA M1N and then the Empire Rd turnoff. Keep to left (Auckland Park) stay in middle lane and continue over Barry Hertzog to T-junction (SABC) turn right into Kings Way and at 3rd traffic light (at Campus Square) right into University road, which becomes Main Street. At the 3rd traffic light (at May’s Chemist) turn left towards Melville on Westdene side. At the circle, the road splits. Take Ayr Road (Weg) to your right , continue downhill and turn left into Winchester Street. JeanJean is the last building on your left, corner Winchester and Avalanche Street (main entrance in Avalanche Street).
