Ashanti has been graded as a four star bed and breakfast by the SA Tourism Grading Council and has been rated as a “Highly Recommended” bed and breakfast by the AA. Ashanti Guest House is ideal for the business and leisure traveller in that it is centrally located for main tourist attractions as well as the main business centres of the area. Within a ten minute drive are the large shopping complexes of Eastgate and the East Rand Mall, Bruma Market and the East Rand Traders Market, a large number of restaurants - each offering a variety of culinary experiences as well as the Emperors Palace Casino and Entertainment Complex which has 24 hour access. Ashanti offers easy access to all the major highways to central, north and southern Johannesburg, the Eastern parts of Johannesburg and the East Rand (Ekurhuleni). ACCOMMODATION:There are five luxury twin/double rooms each with its’ own décor and style. Three of the rooms are on the upper level and two on the ground floor. Two of the rooms on the upper level have double glass doors that open onto a small balcony overlooking the front garden. The view of the night lights from this balcony are enchanting and many a guest sit outside on the warm African evenings. Each room has a colour TV with the normal SABC channels as well as two other channels, a security facility for guest valuables and a hospitality tray for in-room tea/coffee making. Supplies for the tray are filled daily and include biscuits/rusks and fresh fruit. Guest amenities include a range of luxury items such as bubble bath, hand soap, body lotion and shampoo. BREAKFAST:The breakfast is included in the reasonable rates and offers a full menu. There is a buffet component offering a variety of cereals, yoghurts, fruit juice, baked goods and herbal/fruit teas. The cooked part of the meal is made upon order, fresh from the kitchen. The guest gets to choose from a large variety of menu items - some of which are quite specific to Ashanti. There are dishes such as: oats with whisky and brown sugar, French toast with or without syrup, the huge “Ashanti Omelette” - consisting of a filling of fried mushrooms, bacon, onions, tomatoes and mince and topped with melted cheese. The menu also includes the normal dishes of bacon, savoury mince and minute steak, a variety of egg dishes and a selection of vegetable options such as mashed potato with fresh herbs, fried potato chunks, fried tomato, mushrooms and fried onion rings. There are also a range of drinks i.e.; herbal teas, filter coffee, decaffeinated coffee, Milo and Horlicks. CONFERENCE FACILITIES:Meeting facilities consist of a room/table that can seat 12 in boardroom style. The room can also be set up for interviews, small product presentations and training. FACILITIES & SERVICE:Ashanti offers the guest excellent security. Guest vehicles are parked on the premises behind remote controlled gates. Guests are provided with the remotes for 24 hour access. There is a small BBQ/braai area where guests can entertain and the hosts will willingly assist with any requirements for a BBQ/braai. The hosts will also assist with the arranging of tours. Assistance can be provided on information for all areas of South Africa. Dinner is by arrangement and airport transfers can be arranged. |

DIRECTIONS: From the OR Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport follow the R24 to Johannesburg. Take the Edenvale Rd turnoff. At the top of the offramp turn left. Continue on Van Riebeeck Str under the N12 highway. At the second set of traffic lights after going under the N12 highway (bp express is adjacent), turn left into North Reef Rd. At the second set of traffic lights turn right into Wesel Rd. Turn at the third road into Northridge Ave. Follow the road and after the stop street you will find Ashanti Guest House (2nd house on the left).
