Hiking Trails
Slackpacking hiking trails which means that you only need to carry your daybag, whilst your luggage is transported to the next venue. Accommodation is provided at confortable guest farms. The 3 day walk from Wartrail to Rhodes Village is an unforgettable experience.

Cycling Tours
Cycling MTB tours riding between B&B overnight stops on tranquil district roads. The route can be adjusted to provide daily cycling distances of 25-80km per day. Fully catered with luggage transported between overnight stops each day.

Self-Drive Tours
Self-drive tours of the Eastern Cape Drakensberg's eight mountain passes, including the highest pass in South Africa. Relax and let the local experts put together an itinerary to suit your needs including maps, weather and road information. Camping, catered or self-catered options available.

Fly-Fishing Tours
Fly-fishing trips to the Eastern Cape Drakensberg incorporating some of the best mountain rivers in and around Rhodes, Barkly East, Lady Grey and Maclear. Wild trout and yellowfish. Guiding and tuition available if required.

Special Interest Tours
Wild Mountain Adventures can create an itinerary with specialist guides in rock art, birding or wild flowers.

Multi-Activity
Two or more activities can be combined to create a multi-activity package. Options include hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, river rafting (in summer) and 4x4 trails.

About the Eastern Cape Highlands

The Eastern Cape Highlands, also known as "The Wild Side of the Drakensberg" is growing in popularity as a safe and un-commercialised mountain destination with spectacular scenery. The area is most famous for it’s winter snowfalls, but is as yet relatively undiscovered as a summer destination, despite having an ideal climate for outdoor activities from September through until April, never getting unpleasantly hot.
