Pink Girlfest in Volksrust

A first for South Africa, a women only festival, the Pink Girlfest happens in the tranquil setting of Volksrust from 30 April – 2 May.

Just 4 hours away from Durban, on the border of Kwa-Zulu Natal; Mpumalanga and the Free State, ladies from Durban and surrounds can expect a fun packed weekend full of a diverse range of activites.

The three day festival includes well known South African bands such as Karen Zoid; Margaret’s Daughter; Cortina Whiplash and Only When It Rains. An impressive DJ line up includes recently voted, top DJ, DJ Lindi Lush who will be sharing her Electro Funk Fidget Trans tunes, joining her will be DJ’s Sky, Blend, Infinity, Lady Sultry and Cheecky Cherry. Rainbow Designs will indulge the trends with a fabulous fashion show.

Well known South African personalities will give the festival a diverse feel with a variety of talks, workshops and clinics. Tanya Visser, editor of The Gardener magazine and presenter of the television series, The Gardener will be encouraging ladies to enjoy their green fingers with a Gardening and DIY Workshop. Bonita G, a former Carte Blanche presenter will be giving a motivational speech.

For the more athletic and fitness conscious, the Pink Girlfest will offer a Self Defence Demo by Sanet Smit. Caryn Louw will get into the swing of things with a Golf Clinic and Run Like A Girl will offer a Mountain Biking and Hiking clinic.

Activities include Tandem Paragliding, horse riding and quad bike rides and for the more competitive there will be a Tug-o-War. Mud Wrestling, Sack Race and a Wet T-shirt event where fantastic prizes can be won.

Three days of ladies only festivities takes place in Volksrust with the inaugural Pink Girlfest over the long weekend from 30 April to 2 May.
