Blue Swallow Festival
Blue Swallow Festival

Support conservation of the beautiful Graskop forests and grasslands by attending this festival over the long weekend of 27 - 28 April.

There will be an open-air market in Louis Trichardt street with fine food, arts and crafts, an art exhibition, nature talks, potjiekos competition and a fun run.

Artists and crafters who want to sell their wares may book a stall for only R200 for both days. Any profit they make is for their own pocket. Schools, churches or other organisations who would like to raise funds by selling food or crafts are also welcome. 'Eco-friendly' products made from recycled materials are especially welcome.

Through the Blue Swallow Festival the Graskop Conservancy hopes to raise funds to improve the ecological, tourism and social environment around Graskop. Some of its projects include the protection of the endangered Blue Swallow that nests around Graskop, conservation of the indigenous grassland, forests and marshland and lobbying against activities that threaten the environment.
