Afri-Save Marathon
When: Saturday, 01 September 2012
Where: Uitenhage
Categories: Marathons & Half Marathons / Outdoor Events
The Afri-Save Marathon and 10km race starts in Uitenhage which is close to the Port Elizabeth suburb of Bluewater Bay.
This marathon is run on a circular route; a moderate race where you need to go easy for the first 21.1kms because all the hard work comes in the second half of the race. The first 10kms from Uitenhage to Despatch are a downhill and the next 13kms are undulating.
There is a bit of a steep climb around the 21.1km mark. The second half is demanding and includes a two kilometre climb, a rollercoaster drop of two kilometres and then a final seven kilometre climb back to the finish line.
Start: Muir College Boys High school
Race Starting Times: The Marathon (42.2km) starts at 6 o'clock, 10km starts at 7 o'clock and the 5km starts at 8 o'clock
