ACCOMMODATIONThe Lodge - naturally stunning ... created luxury: Imagine sitting above a 30 meter-waterfall, with breathtaking views of a river gorge and the wild Indian Ocean. This is the setting of The Fernery Lodge, and it is difficult to decide whether to admire the incredible surroundings from the deck area with the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym, or to enjoy it from any one of the six luxury suites. Each suite is tastefully decorated and every effort has been made to ensure our guests' comfort, from DSTV, tea and coffee facilities, and magnificent en-suite bathrooms to private decks and spa baths in the honeymoon suites. At the end of a tough day relaxing, guests can wander through the wine cellar and select a bottle of wine before making their way to the Cellar Dining Room for an excellent dinner and an equally enjoyable atmosphere. The Chalets - beautiful and secluded Stay at the Fernery Chalets and experience the Tsitsikmma as if you were the first to discover it. Relax in nature and treat your Soul to views of mystical waterfalls, rock pools and the vast Indian Ocean. These beautiful chalets are set apart from one another to ensure a private paradise experience and offer both B&B and self catering options. The B&B chalets sleep 2 in either twin or king size luxury, whereas the self catering chalets sleep 4 and have fully equipped kitchenettes, making them ideal for families. All the chalets are beautifully decorated and each chalet has a unique theme inspired by its magnificent surroundings. Enjoy the tranquility of the mountains and forests from the privacy of the sheltered deck or curl up in front of the cosy ceramic fireplace with a good book. End off the evening with a barbecue on your deck - simply arrange with us beforehand and we will provide everything from the ingredients to the Weber. As an alternative, the Otters Holt Restaurant is open daily and offers an excellent 4 course table d'hôte dinner menu. FACILITIESAn entertainment area with pool table, dart board and satellite television, as well as a swimming pool, trampoline and sauna, is at the guests disposal. A large jacuzzi, perched on the edge of the river gorge, is a favourite with our guests, and can be enjoyed with a bottle of wine or champagne. THE NURSERYThe nursery forms part of the Forest Ferns Estate and is a Eurepgap accredited facility, exporting ferns and foliage to flower markets around the world. Visit the unique Fernery and marvel at the magnificent display of indigenous ferns, or take a stroll through the fern and restio production nursery. You can also witness the activity of the export pack shed and cold rooms, finishing off the tour with a delicious tea or light meal in our friendly restaurant. ACTIVITIESIf you ever tire of gazing at the view or relaxing in the wonderful facilities, the Fernery and its magnificent surroundings offers an endless array of activities. Amble to the nearby dam and take the rowing boat in a quest to spot some of the 110 species of resident birds, or simply use it to enjoy a round of sundowners. Those wishing to be more active can set off on one of the many hiking trails for which this area is famous, or rent a mountain bike and explore the surrounding plantations. For those guests wanting to explore the area, the Tsitsikamma National Park is close by with its magnificent scenery and variety of hiking trails, and day trips to Natures Valley and Plettenberg Bay are well worth while. The really adventurous may go bungy jumping from the Bloukrans River Bridge, or swinging in the tree tops on a canopy tour. ACCREDITATIONS
