We are situated close to the well known Aliwal Spa Resort about 2km from the Aliwal North town centre on the south bank of the Gariep river. At Whittals you pay less for so much more ... Whittals Chalets offer 9 two bedroom chalets with two double and one single bed - linen provided. Some units have an extra convertible coach in the living area thus providing accommodation for up to 4 single persons, two couples or a family of five. ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES Living and dining area with television leads to a tiled patio with a build-in braai and secluded garden. The kitchen is equipped with fridge, microwave oven, electric frying pan, hotplate, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Whatever you might need, we will try to provide. Bathroom with bath/shower, toilet, towels and limited toiletries. Secured undercover parking. The chalets are serviced daily. Laundry service. Fax and limited secretarial facilities. DVD/VCR players on request. We arrange conference facilities at three different venues We will gladly assist with the planning of your adventure activities and day trips. Credit cards welcome. LOCATIONAliwal North lies on the south bank of the Gariep river and on the N6/Malouti route running from Bloemfontein to East London. Attractions in the area vary from historical sites e.g. block houses dating from the Anglo Boer war, exquisite ancient San rock art sites. (We feature a wide selection of san rock paintings in our chalets). Many museums and monuments in the area. Buildings of interest include St Pauls and the Roman Catholic Cathedral of 1857. The main attraction of the town is the Aliwal Spa which has two mineral springs producing millions of liters of warm, mineralized water each day, acclaimed to have various healing qualities. OUTDOOR AND ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES IN THE AREAWe are blessed with three mountain ranges in our vicinity; the Malutis, Southern Drakensberg and Stormberge. Together with the mighty Orange river on our doorstep it offers unique canoeing, fly fishing, hiking, quad bike and 4x4 routes. Make Whittals your base from which to explore over 600km of the most spectacular and mostly unknown mountain roads and passes including a day trip to the Tiffendal Ski Resort. |
