Emerald mountain pools lie in the shade of tall forest elder trees while a multitude of raptors cruise the towering sandstone cliffs. AccommodationBLACK EAGLE TENTED CAMP Wake to a chorus of forest birds. This comfortable camp is a five minute walk from the parking at the mouth of the Kleinrivier gorge but once you are in camp you will forget that the rest of the world exists. 8 guests can be accommodated in four spacious double tents which have comfortable sprung mattresses, electric lights and carpets. The camp is fully equipped for self-catering. Black Eagle is accessible by normal sedan car. STONE MOUNTAIN LODGE Few lodges offer the isolation a sense of space found at Stone lodge which is situated high in the mountains.1h30’s 4x4 driveor a 11.5km hike from reception (one way). A roaring log fire will keep you warm on those chilly winter nights. The lodge sleeps 7 with five single beds in the main area and a separate double bedroom. DASSIEKRANS UNITS Dassieskrans comprises of three individual units: • Unit 4 = 4 bed (double bed & 2 single beds); • Unit 3 = 2 beds (single beds); • Unit 2 = 2 beds (single beds positioned to serve as a Double bed) It is ideal for couples and small families who wish to escape the rush of city life and spend a few days in close communion with nature.The accommodation units are nestled among the riverine bush. They have been positioned in such a way that, once in residence you are largely unaware of the other guests on the property.All units are fully equipped for self-catering. Cooking is done either on a gas burner or fire. SOETDORINGS CAMPSITE If you prefer to sleep in your own bed, try pitching tent at Soetdorings. This shaded bush camp has its own dam to attract game and birds. Activities & AttractionsThere are plenty of off-road challenges for those driving a 4x4 or you could put on your hiking boots and tackle one of the nature trails. The most popular activity is to simply relax on your deck and wait for the wildlife to come to you. Birders are catered for with strategically placed benches on which to await your quarry. If you do not have your own 4x4 book a mountain trail or game drive on ours The 22km Two Gorges Trail will lead you up the Kleinrivier to overnight in Stone Mountain Lodge before descending the Palmiet River past stunning pools and waterfalls. The adventurous can head for Spring-gat and plummet from dizzy heights into its icy depths or hire a mountain bike and go in search of game. |

DIRECTIONS: From Port Elizabeth Take the R75 to graaf-reinet . Set odometer as you pass the "Uitenhage North" exit, at 11.8 km turn left onto the "Cockscomb" road. Follow this gravel road for 22km before turning left at the "Kleinrivier" sign. Follow the farm road for 5km through 6 gates to Kleinrivier.
