Situated in the secluded coastal village, Beachview, Big Blue Beach Lodge is the ideal place for a relaxed, tranquil getaway. With our warm personal service you’ll immediately feel at home. Only 25 minutes from Port Elizabeth we are within easy reach of shopping centers, casinos, oceanarium, golf course and the airport. Perfect for the executive person to relax in this tranquil surrounding after a hard day’s work.

ACCOMMODATION


Experience the full beach house effect in our uniquely decorated double rooms, boasting a stunning sea view. Our family room caters for those with children. Enjoy a full English breakfast in our breakfast room while spotting the dolphins and whales frolicking in the waves or just soak up the magnificent sea view. End a busy day with an exotic cocktail in our bar while watching a sun set over the ocean.

Room 5: Twin or king size bed, balcony and separate entrance, en-suite with shower, microwave, bar fridge. (Room 4 and 5 can be interlinked to form family suite.)

ATTRACTIONS


A quick 2 minute walk brings you to the beach where you can snorkel in the tidal and rock pools. Try catching a Mussel cracker or Steenbras in this perfect fishing spot. Just around the corner you’ll find Maitland River Mouth with its wide expanse of beach dominated by high sand dunes ideal for sand boarding. View a wide variety of wildlife or hold a lion cub at our local Sea View Lion Park, only 5 minutes away. We are in close proximity of the Addo Elephant Park and Kragga Kamma Game Reserve. Ideal spot for paragliding and lots of hiking trails for the more adventuress.

CONFERENCE AND TEAM BUILDING FACILITIES


We are only 15 min from Port Elizabeth, just far enough for that getaway feeling. Our unique venue is ideal for smaller conferences for up to 20 delegates. A big screen and projector is available. The beautiful view from our venue contributes to the atmosphere of your teambuilding. Our close proximity to the beach enables you to make beach activities part of your team building experience. Other options include horse riding, beach volleyball or beach braai’s.

WEDDINGS AND SPECIAL FUNCTIONS


Our beautiful rustic venue, with thatch roof and 180 degree sea views, is perfect for the smaller intimate weddings. We can seat up to 50 guests with a dance floor. Our friendly and experienced staff will do their utmost to ensure that your special day will be exactly as you want it to be. We cater for all occasions, weddings, birthday parties, work functions, etc. A cash bar and music equipment is available. Contact us for a variety of menu options at very reasonable prices.

Our venue is so unique that you can also have your wedding ceremony here (at no extra cost). Alternatively you can arrange your ceremony in the lovely local Seaview chapel. If you would like to have your ceremony on the beach, the Maitland beach is only 5 minutes from Big Blue.

DIRECTIONS:

From the Airport
As you drive out the airport turn left. Turn left again at the first robot. There will be a roadsign indicating Seaview. This is Heugh road, which becomes Buffelsfontein road. Stay on this road for aprox. 25 km’s. You will eventually reach Seaview. When you see the Spar centre on your right there will be a road on your left. Turn left here into Elizabeth road. (The road that’s next to the ocean). Drive for aprox. 4 km’s untill you reach Beachview. (Inbetween Seaview and Beachview there is a stretch of vacant land, when you reach the build up area you are in Beachview). Take the second right into Beachview drive. Take the first right into Seestrand. Take the first left into Mackerel. We are nr 20 - the big yellow house with thatch roof.

From N2
Take the Seaview / Greenbushes turnoff. Drive towards Seaview for about 10 km’s until you reach Seaview. Across the road from Spar centre turn right into Elizabeth Rd. Where road forks stay on left, road becomes Beachview Drive. The first road on right is Oyster Road, turn right. Turn left immediately into Seestrand Rd. The first road right again is Mackerel Rd, we are nr 20.
