Pan for Gold in Barbrton

An interesting weekend getaway is available at the Barberton Manor Guest House in Mpumalanga. (Barberton Manor is a Sir Herbert Baker design, built in 1927 to order of a goldmine director. The Guest House has been registered as a National Heritage).


After arriving on Friday evening you will be treated to an exclusive 4-course dinner by candlelight. Then for a good nights rest in one of the beautifully decorated suites.

On Saturday morning after a delicious breakfast you will be taken on an underground adventure into a working goldmine. After the extensive tour which lasts about 4 hours you get the opportunity to to pan for gold. Back to the Barberton Manor for lunch and the afternoon you can go hiking up mountain trails, visit Victorian buildings in town, the jewelry project, relax at the pool or walk around the beautiful botanical gardens at the Barberton Manor. In the evening your diner will be served either in- or outdoors.
