These well positioned, low impact tented suites combine the tranquillity of the wilderness with discreet comfort. Each Hideaway, named after a celebrated constellation, enjoys uninterrupted views of the Milky Way and the surrounding landscape. Designed with romance and seclusion in mind, the canvas suites encourage a genuine connection with nature while maintaining a standard of understated elegance.

Restaurant

The Old Mill House serves generous, home style cuisine in a relaxed and welcoming setting. It is an excellent place to begin the morning with a substantial breakfast, or to conclude the day with a regional wine and a carefully prepared three course dinner. As a licensed restaurant, it offers breakfasts, light lunches and evening meals. Dinner reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance, and any dietary requirements should be communicated at the time of booking.

Activities

SELF-GUIDED
Guests may enjoy a scenic waterfall hike, which takes approximately thirty minutes each way, or explore the surroundings at their own pace. Canoes and mountain bikes are available for hire at reception, and both single track and family friendly routes are clearly mapped for convenience.

GUIDED
The Tuinskloof Rock Pool Nature Walk is a four hour guided excursion leading to a secluded rock pool and seasonal waterfall, followed by an engaging return trail through rugged, unspoilt mountain scenery, with a lunch pack included. Junior Ranger Adventures, lasting two hours, introduce younger guests to ancient rock art, fishing, archery and other outdoor skills. Visitors may also participate in an Olive Grove Tour and Tasting, or choose from the Secret Cederberg Sundowner experience, a half day hike of approximately four hours, or a full day hike of roughly six hours, each led by knowledgeable guides.

About the Area

The Cederberg lies approximately two and a half hours from Cape Town, yet its character differs markedly from that of the Mother City, offering a landscape that is warmer, more rugged and strikingly dramatic. The mountain range takes its name from the endangered Clanwilliam Cedar, Widdringtonia cedarbergensis, a species endemic to the region. The area is renowned for its imposing rock formations and significant San rock art, which together reflect a natural and cultural heritage of enduring value.
