The Rosendal Country Retreat offers Rosendal accommodation in the Free State. We have created the ultimate retreat, a hybrid between modern and traditional. We've captured the spirit of this unique Free State town in our design and created a delightfully cosy escape nestled between the mountains.

Accommodation

The Rosendal Country Retreat is a guest house in Rosendal with a range of en-suite rooms. All the rooms have a kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, fridge, complimentary freshly baked mini bread loaves and basics like tea, coffee and sugar. The rooms have a seating area, cosy fireplace, air conditioning and hairdryer. A private patio overlooks the garden.

Dining

Breakfast boxes are available to order and include homemade muesli with yogurt, fruit juice, two freshly baked biscuits, and a freshly baked croissant filled with bacon, egg, and cheese. Braai facilities are available but wood and charcoal are not included.

On Site Facilities

The Rosendal Country Retreat has a communal lounge with a fireplace, dining room and a hot tub. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available as well as secure parking.

Attractions and Activities

The best thing to do in Rosendal is nothing! It is the ideal tonic to busy city life, giving you the opportunity to relax in beautiful and quiet surroundings. If you are feeling more energetic then we recommend a walk through the town or a spectacular mountain hiking or biking expedition! You can play golf at the Senekal golf club (20 minutes away). Horse riding is available at Moolmanshoek (15 minutes away).

Rosendal is a small farming town and arts colony 49km north of Ficksburg in the Free State province of South Africa which was founded in 1908. It has become a popular tourist destination, known for spectacular scenery, including the surrounding mountains, and is home to a community of artists and small business owners. The town has a number of attractive buildings and early-20th-century homes. There are several art galleries and several small cafes cum restaurants as well as a heritage district of restored buildings in the former downtown.
