The Old Posthouse is a well appointed self catering establishment suited to both families and business travellers. The property offers three self catering units, each carefully arranged to accommodate between two and three guests in comfort. All units feature en suite bathrooms fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet, ensuring privacy and ease of use throughout your stay.

The Restaurant

Through thoughtful attention to décor and ambience, the hosts have created a space that feels warm and welcoming, a place where guests are encouraged to pause, enjoy carefully prepared coffee, and reconnect. It is unhurried by design, because some moments are meant to be taken slowly.

Our freshly baked chicken pies have earned a loyal following, and for good reason. Guests also regularly praise our farm style bread, baked on site and served with both breakfasts and sandwiches. The menu is prepared daily in our kitchen, with everything from cakes and buns to quiches and pies made fresh each day.

We proudly serve locally roasted Klein Karoo coffee, staying true to regional flavour and quality. In addition, the space features handcrafted leather and canvas items created by local artisans, along with fresh flowers sourced from our own Hoeko Valley, bringing a genuine sense of place to every visit.

Location & Attractions

Ladismith is a picturesque town located in the heart of the Little Karoo, also known as the Klein Karoo, in the Western Cape of South Africa. Positioned at the southern foothills of the Klein Swartberg mountain range, the town lies at an altitude of approximately 550 metres above sea level. The surrounding environment combines fertile valleys with open semi arid plains, resulting in dramatic scenery that differs markedly from the coastal regions.

The area’s natural beauty is one of Ladismith’s greatest attractions. Prominent mountain formations, including the iconic Towerkop, dominate the horizon and provide excellent opportunities for scenic drives, hiking trails, and birdwatching. The region’s varied plant life and location at the meeting point of several biomes make it especially appealing to nature enthusiasts and outdoor lovers.
