About Sunflower Cottage

Sunflower Cottage is located on Springvale Farm in Rosetta and provides accommodation in a farm setting. There are horses and a piggy along with our canine companions on the property for you to look at and of course, our very inquisitive dairy cows are always happy to meet new faces.

Self Catering Accommodation

Designed to accommodate up to four guests, this charming cottage offers a front-row view of the pastoral day-to-day, where mornings begin with the soft hum of the dairy in motion and the fresh scent of open fields. Ideal for families or friends in search of a countryside escape, the cottage combines old-world character with considered comforts, allowing guests to slow down and savour the moment.

The two tastefully furnished bedrooms provide a restful haven, each offering the flexibility of a king-size bed or twin arrangement to suit your needs. Both rooms include their own private en-suite bathroom—one fitted with a deep, inviting bath, the other with a sleek, modern shower. Fine linens, electric blankets, and wall heaters ensure warmth and comfort throughout the seasons, creating an atmosphere of quiet ease after a day of exploration.

Thoughtfully equipped, the kitchen includes everything required to prepare hearty farm-style meals or simple snacks with ease, from a gas hob and electric oven to a fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. The open-plan living area is both cosy and inviting, centred around a wood-burning stove that brings warmth and atmosphere to chilly evenings. Whether you're curling up with a book, catching up on your favourite shows with the full DSTV bouquet, or simply enjoying conversation, this space offers the perfect backdrop.

Modern conveniences have not been overlooked. Guests enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, an inverter to maintain power during load shedding, and daily housekeeping to keep the space fresh and orderly throughout their stay. Pets

All well-socialised, well-behaved dogs are welcome but please keep them off the furniture and beds. They must be on a leash while walking on the farm.

Additional Information

We have a cross bred milking herd of 850 cows. We provide permanent employment to about 25 people. The breeding animals are on Springvale and the young heifers are based at Inkwazi Farm, next to Michael House School. We raise the babies here at Springvale and once they are weaned we send them to Inkwazi. They only return to Springvale once they are about to calve down at the age of two years. We milk our cows on a 60 bay rotary and our milk goes to Douglas Dale.
