I arrived at Sugarbird Guest house earlier on in 2017 for a 3-day business trip. I met Sue Maguire, part owner of Sugarbird, inside the airport, as I had no mode of transport from the airport, and received a very warm introduction from her. I was then commuted to Sugarbird where I was welcomed by Craig Maguire, part owner. It was clear right from the beginning that Sue and Craig where made for the hospitality industry. I had received a great welcoming from both and they constantly ensured that I felt as if I was at a home away from home. I had a great first impression of the house and rooms. The beautiful garden and pool right by the rooms brings about a lovely energy during your stay and the layout of the guesthouse makes you feel at ease. The room was beautifully set out and had quality finishes to it. The room was immaculately clean every time I came back after my day at work, as if I hadn’t stayed there the night before. Sue and Craig ensured that I had the best possible start to my day as I was treated every morning to a hearty breakfast and great company. A lot of care seemed to of gone into every meal that I received and it really stuck with me. Overall I had a fantastic time. If I required personal time I could go to my room and feel like I was in my own room in CPT and if I wanted to mingle, Sue and Craig were always there to give me great company. I would greatly recommend Sugarbird Guesthouse to anyone going up for a business trip, a stay away with family, any internationals or anyone who just wants to experience Johannesburg.
