Gondwana’s Pioneer Trail is the ultimate slack packing adventure where your belongings are moved daily between the three camps, allowing you to experience the dramatic Fynbos landscape with only a light day pack. Each exclusive camp is comprised of four tents with en-suite bathrooms sleeping a maximum of eight guests. Homemade African inspired meals are catered for you with cold beverages on tap. You literally need to “just bring your boots” and the Pioneer Trail team will do the rest. It has been said there is no better way to experience nature and wildlife than on foot. In the camps, apart from the four accommodation tents, there are lounge and dining tents. An outdoor boma and campfire area is where guests can gather. The staff include a camp assistant and two trail guides who will be with you for the three nights.

A conservation levy per person per booking and will need to be prepaid prior to the guest’s arrival at the Lodge.

Travelling with children?
Children age 12 and over are welcome.

How to confirm?
Deposits are required to confirm a booking, usually 50% but sometimes as high as 100% depending on season and time till check-in.

Cancellation policy
If a cancellation is made 60 days or more prior to arrival - a percentage admin fee is administered as 15% of total booking value and the remainder is refunded.
If a cancellation is made 30 - 14 days prior to arrival, all deposits are non-refundable.
If a cancellation is made 14 days or less prior to arrival, full payment will be applied as the cancellation penalty.
