The pebbled courtyard leads you to a stately brick exterior wrapped in climbing vines, setting the tone for unhurried mornings that begin with warm croissants, strong coffee, and light hearted planning for the day ahead. Lunchtime usually drifts into a leisurely spread of fresh bread, local cheese, and a well deserved bottle of wine.

Self-Catering Accommodation

The holiday home offers five comfortable bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.

The first bedroom includes an extra-length queen bed and a private bathroom fitted with a basin, bath, and toilet. The second bedroom has two single beds along with an en-suite that features a shower, basin, and toilet.

The third bedroom provides an extra-length queen bed together and two single beds, and its bathroom includes a bath, double shower, basin, and toilet. The fourth bedroom is furnished with an extra-length queen bed and has an en-suite equipped with a bath, double shower, basin, and toilet. The fifth bedroom contains two single beds and an en-suite that mirrors the same generous bathroom layout with a bath, double shower, basin, and toilet.

The kitchen is fully equipped for easy self catering. It includes a Nespresso machine, as well as an airfryer, washing machine, tumble dryer, two dishwashers, an electric oven, a microwave, kettle, toaster, and a five plate gas stove with oven. Nothing has been overlooked, which means you can cook properly.

The living areas are designed for relaxation and gathering. A smart TV with Netflix is available, and you can mirror your personal devices if you prefer your own shows. Board games, books, a pool table, an eight seater dining table, an indoor fireplace, a bar, and a built in indoor braai all contribute to an inviting atmosphere. It is the kind of space where people linger, chat, and occasionally show off questionable pool playing skills.

The Area

Malgas is a small riverside settlement on the western bank of the Breede River in the Overberg District of the Western Cape, situated roughly 30 kilometres south east of Swellendam. It can be reached via a gravel road that turns off the N2 just outside Swellendam and continues all the way toward Cape Infanta where the river meets the ocean. It is also accessible from the direction of Bredasdorp.

Malgas is known for its remarkable beauty and tranquillity. The southern riverbank is dotted with picturesque homes set against the Potberg Mountain range, many boasting private jetties and unspoiled views.
