About Khumbula

Khumbula, meaning ‘to remember' in Zulu, is a luxury villa designed around the spectacular views of Walker Bay in the Overberg region of the Western Cape, a one and a half hour drive from Cape Town. Rising from the cliffs, nestled in the indigenous fynbos, Khumbula enjoys a prime location in de Kelders, close to the small fishing village of Gansbaai.

Self Catering Accommodation

Khumbula sleeps up to 6 guests who want a truly unforgettable holiday. Wake up to uninterrupted views of Walker Bay, widely accepted as the premier location for land-based whale watching and home to one of the largest populations of Great White sharks in the world.

The ground floor features a welcoming entrance hall that leads to two en-suite bedrooms on the right. To the left, an elegant open-plan kitchen is equipped with both gas and induction hobs, an oven, and a scullery fitted with a fridge, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. The kitchen flows into a stylish living and dining area, where stacking doors open onto the pool deck. A separate pool lounge, also with stacking doors, enhances the seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living.

Upstairs, the master suite offers an en-suite bathroom, a wardrobe, and private access to a balcony. A small section of this level remains reserved and is not available to guests.

Outdoors, guests can enjoy a spacious pool deck with a swimming pool, along with convenient off-road parking. Please note, the property does not provide a television or other entertainment systems, ensuring a tranquil and distraction-free environment.

Additional Facilities

Off-street parking is available, and complimentary WiFi is provided. Guests have full access to the entire property and all open spaces, except for a small private area upstairs reserved for the owners.

To immerse guests fully in the natural surroundings, Khumbula deliberately avoids infotainment. Here, nature plays the starring role, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the sea and local wildlife.
